Over 2000 full text journals are available to you online via MyJournals.

One searchable database brings together journals available across the NHS in England, journals purchased locally, and those freely available to everyone (an OpenAthens account is usually required).

To access MyJournals go to and choose ‘Journals and Databases’, then ‘Journals’ or click here.

Log in to MyJournals using your Athens username and password (register for OpenAthens here).

Browse the A-Z list or search directly for journals by title using one of the options provided.

Click on the publisher link to take to you to the full text. You may be asked to supply your login details when accessing an online journal. Simply click the ‘OpenAthens log-in’ link to continue.

The MyJournals database also covers printed journals held within BASE libraries.

Get text messages from your library!

Would you like a text message when your books are due or you have a book to collect from us?

Base Libraries are now offering free text alerts for members.

To start using the service, please enter your mobile telephone number, work email address and another identifier such as your name or library card number in the boxes. By entering your details you are consenting to your personal information being processed and held according to the Privacy Notice

You can also log into your account and go to 'your messaging' to enter your SMS number and messaging options, or contact your local Base Library to opt in. You can remove your number at any time from your account to stop receiving texts.
